In the 1940s, Gerharz-Cappetta Funeral Home was the neighborhood funeral home in “Chicago island neighborhood”, serving families in Chicago, Oak Park, Cicero and Berwyn as well as other near- in suburbs. While the building is no longer there, Anthony P. Cappetta and his son Anthony, continue to serve the families from the old neighborhood nearby or wherever they may have moved to since then. Every year, the Cappetta’s continue to serve many families from the original location all over the Chicagoland area and even beyond.

A person who called on the phone had called Gerharz Cappetta Funeral Home to ask if we’re the beautiful Chapel on the Hill in Downtown Lemont with the beautiful flowers surrounding the beautiful old home. We assured her that we indeed are that place. She came to see us to discuss arrangements for a family member of hers.
